***PRESS RELEASE*** President Robertson and Chief Myers are saddened to announce the passing of two Seneca Hose members: John (Jack) Blake and Tracy Escott. Jack Blake joined Seneca Hose in 1982. He was a life member and served as a Board of Director. Additionally Jack spent many years as a Commissioner of West Seneca Fire District #5. Jack passed away on November 2nd. It is with true sadness and heartbreak, Chief Brem, President Smith, as well as the membership of Seneca Hose Company #1, announce the passing of Brother Firefighter/Life Member Gregory Budney.Greg joined Seneca Hose on June 4th, 2004, and obtained his life membership at our last regular Company Meeting. This month, Fire Police Captain Richard Scheuneman, achieved a milestone of 50 active years of membership to Seneca Hose Company #1.Richard joined Seneca Hose on July 9th, 1968. Five Seneca Hose firefighters participated in a mutual aid drill Saturday morning with members from other departments within the Town of West Seneca, as well as surrounding jurisdictions.Crews trained on skills and tactics used for Mayday procedures and F.A.S.T. (Firefighter Assist and Search Team) operations. Please join us in congratulating Fire Lieutenant Collin Berst, EMS Lieutenant Dylan Seufert, and Firefighter DJ Janicki who recently completed the 62 hour NYS and National Fire Service Instructor 1 course. The class required the three Firefighters to spend 5 days at the NYS Fire Academy in Montour Falls, NY. Nice work guys!
